Why we exist
Founded in 2024, Vehicle Lab started from a simple observation on the bench: vehicles kept getting smarter and more complex, while the tools used to calibrate and diagnose them stayed rooted in legacy, license-locked, manual workflows.
We build software to take the repetitive, high-skill grunt work off the engineer's plate — to reduce human work, not replace human judgment — and we work alongside calibration and diagnostics teams to do it.

Vehicle Lab is built by engineers who have lived inside powertrain calibration, ECU diagnostics and fleet data — founded and led by automotive software engineer Chayan Das, with experience across powertrain calibration, diagnostics and large-scale data analysis. We don't just write software; we build precision instruments, from model-based calibration and AI diagnostics to MDF4 signal analysis.
Everything we build — HELIX for calibration data management and XHandbook for EHANDBOOK-compatible ECU documentation — speaks the formats your team already uses: ASAM (MDF/A2L/ODX), ISO 14229 (UDS), XCP/CCP and AUTOSAR. Local-first and license-server-free, so your calibration data stays in your environment.
